Please answer in full as if I think you are a spammer I do not approve membership. What aspect of textiles are you interested in?
Mainly patchwork with hand piecing being my favourite there but I am just starting to get into simple stitcheries. I look with awe at all of the amazing embroidery that some people do and hope to get time to try some at some stage in life.
Where did you learn your textle skills?

Thank you so much for all that detail, Cinzia - I greatly appreciate you going to all that trouble. I have printed it out for myself to follow when I set it up.

Hi Gina,
Sharon was correct you have to go through flickr not stitchin fingers for the photo page.
Ok step by step
go to flickr home page
click the arrow beside groups and then click on the bit that says create new group
Choose which kind of group you want .. I choose Public - invitation only for our TAST group. I would suggest you choose one of the first two group types as some people find the group by searching through flickr. With the second group I have to accept all applications but after that anyone can post without my needing to moderate or whatever.
choose name for the group
I don't think I wrote anything under the description bit , or if I did it was very little
hit next
you have a couple of options for your group page next.. decide what you want then hit next
couple of options next page ... again decide then hit all done
on the next page the only bit I thought was important was the alias for the web address (2nd column 2nd item) .. click this
in this page I wrote TAST in the space that turns up .. this is your own choice it doesn't have to be so but simply makes it easier for me to remember rather than the great long addy they give you ... click preview... if you like it then ...click lock it in
If you then click groups along the top menu bar it should be in the group title groups you administer.
Hope that helps.. it is easy after you have done it a few times.

Hi Cinzia,
I'm hoping you can help me. I started a Group for Cross Stitchers, and I'd like to set up a Flickr site so the members can post their photos there, like we do on the TAST group. I emailed SharonB, but either I didn't phrase my question well, or she misunderstood it, as her reply was not helpful. All she said was that anyone can open a Flickr account but there is no facility to do it under Stitchin Fingers. I thought the TAST one was under a kind of umbrella for Stitchin Fingers, as the members can all post there. Can you tell me how you set that up, and how we can all post there without providing a password?

Cinzia,

Wow, that was a fast delivery on Your fabric squares! I am very pleased to hear that they arrived, and am totally amazed (and now very curious) that You only found 3 like You already had .... I would've guessed many more than that (how much variation in fabrics can there be ?)

I hope that You have fun with them .

a little merino wool sounds like a real treat! What a considerate offer, Thank You

enjoy everything that You do, and always look forward to tomorrow,

Phyllis

Thank you for asking but could I wait until sometime later on after I get a better feel for what's going on?
And besides, I'm having a cataract removed on July 28 and won't be able to use the computer for a couple of weeks. I have a very careful doctor.

ps - with a bit more looking, I have seen your link through to the original list - so I think it is Cretan stitch for our week 5. Is that right? Thanks! xxx

Hi Cinzia - i just posted my week 4 thing, and I am going away on Tuesday for the week. Could you let me know the stitch for week 5 a little early please, so I may have a look at examples online, and do my preparation in comfortable time before I go? That would be so helpful.

Thanks again, for all your kind steering and holding in the group - it feels good there, and people are doing lovely work. xxx
