Thanks Heike that would be good. I hope you enjoy your trip to Australia. I can see from your photos that you have been here before, the outback quilt is lovely.
Hello Heike, I live near Brisbane, you might even be coming south this way, the Tweed Valley where I live is a beautiful part of Aus, and it would be lovely to meet up, I look forward to seeing what we can manage once you have firm plans...nanette
It would be my pleasure to have you as a friend Heike. welcome to SF you will enjoy being a part of this wonderful community. No I dont live in the "centre" I live in south east queensland, but we have travelled round Australia in our caravan. I have been to the northern territory a few times and to West Australia twice, and have painted the gorges. I just love the colours of the inland.
I just found you by looking at members and where they are from. Having visited Germany, I found it most intriguing to correspond and see what you are doing.
I loved it there. At the moment I am making hearts in mixed media art.
I don't have any skills as far as silk ribbon embroidery but would love to learn.
I love fiber arts as of the last year in my art walk!
I love your quilt wall hanging you did.. logs of work I see..
Heike, the crackling was achieved by pasting over the blue background a paste made of cornstarch (Maizena o.ä.). Let it dry and then crunch it a little. Then you apply black colour on it. After it is all dry you wash it out. My background was dyed with Procion colours - the black colour might have been fabric colour which you buy in small containers (Stoffmalfarbe).
