I've posted a new video on YouTube on Tambour Chain Stitch.

I hope to blog about that soon.

I've used a Tambour Hook with a rounded tip but has the usual hook part, its an antique.

I'm interested in comparing this to an Ari Hook (sometimes spelt Aari) from India.

Oh, Thank You for that, Beth! I'm intrigued by Serendipity-- 'meeting' you doing this same thing of pursuing Aari and Tambour! You said you posted a tambour chain stitch video? I haven't seen it on you tube. Do you have a link?

Yes, The London Embroidery School in Islington supplies them:

The close-up image of their tip is best I've managed to find and appears more rounded than conventional Tambour Hook.

Hi Beth,

Funny, I've been researching these 2 exact same techniques. I haven't been able to find a source for Aari needles. Do You know of one? I looked for your video but couldn't find it. Do you have a link?
