I started cross stitching in 1972 and in the year 2110 I still love starting a new picture. Sometimes I have about 3 going at the same time. My cross stitching bag has been my companion these many years while raising my children. It has gotten me thru the good times and the hard times. It was the one thing that I could just pick up and put it down any time or take it with me at a minutes notice. I have shared many of finished pieces with friends and have sold several on ebay and etsy. My husband loves my cross stitch and hates for me to sell them so he will buy them and frame them so I have my walls full of cross stitch pictures.
I find cross stitching to be very relaxing after a busy day. My favorite fabric is linen. The 32 count linen is my choice because the cross stitch is defined yet covers the fabric quite well. I like using two strands of DMC floss and the smallest needle about a 28 size which is harder to find so size 26 will do also. I enjoy a variety of pictures to cross stitch.
I have recently tried some of the computer generated charts and have found them, for me that is, not as good as some well established cross stitch publishers. Some of them take from 6 months to a year so it is important to check the graft size and who is the designer before selecting your patterns.
Occasionally I have designed my own for special occasions. As long as my eyes and fingers are working I will always have my cross stitch bag companion near by.

Hi Tania... know exactly what you mean about that bag of cross stitch! A real sanity saver. I'm working on a little panel of zebras for my daughter, named Zoe. She's collecting zebras now, the 18 ct Aida scrap someone gave me is a bit hard on the eyes but it's looking great and she's hanging over my shoulder just waiting for it to be finished. I might make her a little bag/purse with the panel, she's 8 now and enjoying taking her pocket money shopping.
