Now my 'to do' board is clear and I look forward to another wonderful year ahead!

I have posted photos of the piece on my flickr page if you care to take a look?  Each year it will be a reminder of all the positive things my dear Dad and I shared together

He was my very own guiding star!

Now I have a double sided wall piece, one side has the verse and a centre panel of stitch and beading and the other is dry-felted with yet more stitch, beads and copper shim.  It can be used as a centre decoration for my table, it looks lovely when the candle is lit and the copper shim glows against the reds and oranges, and when not in use, I can keep precious momentos inside, too!

The verse is taken from 'The Rubayait of Omar Khayyam, my dad's favourite book and it is embroidered on panels at each star point.  The words are beautiful and express the fragility of life so well.

For in and out, above, about, below,

'Tis nothing but a majic Shadow-Show,

Played in a box whose candle is the Sun

Round which we phantom figures come and go.
