...where nothing you are stitching is working out? well this weekend it seemed no matter what I touched it turned to_____.
First it was the lace weight yarn I bought from Knit Picks, I was preparing to begin crocheting this Cob Web shawl and midway through rolling the yarn into a ball a knot, than another and before you know it I had a pile of yarn spaghetti, ugh! After 2 hours of untangling and trying to keep my wits and temper about me I began snipping away as each new knot appeared, two and a half hours later I have the first ball with 75 pieces tied on.
Needless to say I won't be using it for the shawl, I am sure I will find some craft project where I can put it to good use, if not I can snip it to pieces and leave it for the birds to use in their nest building.
Than yesterday I was doing some embroidery and wasn't too happy with part of the piece so I started to rip the stitches gently while pulling out the threads I decided I didn't like the fabric I was using-just some muslin-so I removed all of the stitching and than thought why didn't I snap a photo I would have liked to look back on the stitching which I was happy with.
The Yarn incident was my fault I should have paid more attention to what was happening with the yarn. I do like the yarn, I had never ordered from Knit Picks before but the color caught my eye and when it arrived it felt so soft and fine its a 70%wool 30%silk blend just right for Florida.
The patterned called for lace weight Mohair unfortunately when I touch mohair I get red blotches and scratch so I thought I would try another lace weight yarn just by chance I opened an email from Knit Picks and found what I wanted and there was an offer for a free skein of Brava yarn so what the heck.
Well this is the pattern and eventually I will pick up more yarn and get it started.
perhaps all this happened because I was making the shawl in a deep lavender color rather than white. I hope your weekend stitching was better than mine.
