Award and a Book

This is really my week, I just received a notice from the Glenhryst Gallery that I have won an Award of Merit for my entry "Sentinel". This is a real kick for me as I have really just started entering public galleries call for entry.

Back to Stitching!!!!

Finally, time to pick up a needle and beautiful threads and ribbons!!!!! Back to working on my piece for my blog: www.llkdesigns.blogspot.com. and write and photograph Journey With a Quilt and a Blog. I started the blog so the kids might have sumthing to read about me and what I 'do', when Im gone lol

but its become a chart of what I do craft wise more than anything. I doubt the kids will ever have time to sit and read what Im about!

For every leaf that twirls the breeze.

A friend gave me a bag of scraps, soooo exciting. I found a piece of felt and silk throwsters and began to create a collection of autumn leaves, by adding organzers and machine embroidery. I wanted to age them to look more like the leaves falling all around me; so I melted them and left them to cool in distorted shapes.
