V&A Pics

I am trying to comply with the terms in the V&A image licensing agreement so that I can post the images I took while there earlier this month. I currently have the images up on a private Picasa page, which nobody can view without the authorization key. I put them up so that the V&A people could see what I was going to do and to assure them that my intentions were authentic.

The images are protected so that nobody can capture them, print them or copy in any way, but apparently… Continue

Decisions, decisions

Hi,

So I'm thinking of restarting blogging again, having been away from it for a year or so. If I do blog, shall I stay at Vox or move to here, because it is mostly needlework that I blog about (and the 2 dogs and the cat, of course).

What to do, what to do.

The good news is I'm on vacation this week so I have plenty of time to ponder.

It is frightfully rainy and windy outside so perfect weather for this type of dilemma.

I'm going to make a cup of tea and ponder for a… Continue

What I Have Been Doing

I have been away from Stitchin' Fingers for a long time. Oh, I would pop in here and there, but just have been kinda silent. The past year of my life has been really busy! I have started a local CQ group here in sunny and right now very hot Bastrop, Tx. The group has taken a little of my time so to speak. I have been working on a compitition quilt. My first. I am trying to get the word out about CQ so these are the two place that I have started. I have been working on all kinds of Round Robins.… Continue

PROGRESS REPORT

A committee is a cul-de-sac down which ideas are lured and then quietly strangled.

Barnett Cocks

Thursday, June 25, 2009 – sunny and warm. I hope to grill a steak tonight.

I threaded heddles yesterday morning and was so proud of my progress. (I’m a quarter finished.) This morning I over slept and didn’t get anything done. Maybe this evening.

Reorganizing the stash

I picked a dreadful time of year to reorganize my stitching area up in our finished attic. That's "area," not "room" (I'm not allowed to co-opt the entire attic just for my needlework, for some reason). We have century-old floor vents, from which cool air from the downstair AC gentlly wafts, and a new energy-efficient window unit, but they're still battling against outdoor temperatures of 98 or so -- and the fact that heat rises. But I can't stand the mess any longer and cooler weather is a… Continue

PROGRESS OR LACK THEREOF

Nothing happened last night. I was much too tired.

I thought I would do something this morning, but I took Shelley for a long walk instead. Maybe tonight.

PROGRESS REPORT: LINA'S BABY BLANKET

Monday, 06/22/2009

The warp has been wound off and wound on the warp beam. I’ve started threading the heddles, if you call 9 heddles out of 300 started.

I’ll work on it tonight and expect to have the heddles threaded and the reed sleyed by next Saturday.

I’ll keep you posted.

PROGRESS REPORT: LINA'S BABY BLANKET

I've ordered the yarn from Harrisville. I should get it next week sometime.

I'll continue with my plans to warp the loom this weekend so that I'll be ready to start when the yarn arrives.
