I have an very active interest in all aspects of textiles and love to design and stitch. Currently hand embroidery and crazy quilting dominate but I also do a bit of freeform crochet, sewing and costuming.
Where did you learn your textle skills?
School when I was a child. After doing a fine arts degree I completed a post graduate studies in textiles then went on to do a masters too!
Anything else you want to say to introduce yourself to the group??
Unfortunately I think people are changing their settings and becoming more 'private' I don't understand it myself. I know many people are fearful online but to me it's a bit like walking into the party then turning your face to the wall and saying...
I made a trio of ornaments to exchange with other ladies from the Cross Stitchin' Fingers group.
I found a freebie pattern online yesterday for partridges and pears made of fabric, and I'm thinking about making some of those.
I personally won't be making ornaments, as I don't keep Christmas, but I do have the 'An Elizabethan Christmas' book, which has the details of about a dozen circular small hangings. They're meant to be for the Xmas tree, but I felt that they could...

Wondering if I have enough green and red fabric for a binge making Xmas decorations
I am enjoying the odd photo I spot of the seasonal or tree decorations. If you are making decorations what about sharing a few photos? I am sure everyone would like to see them.

Thank you for your kind comment about my fairy shoes.
I see we can choose a page to jump to in the photo gallery. PHEW! Thank you for that too. No more clicking through hundreds of pages to go back to where I left off.
thank you. i really admire your work. i'm going to be adding favorites later this eve. that little tree is one of the smallest things i've done, but now i think i might concentrate on postcard size more often. you can really zoom in on the stitches. it's actually way more impressive in online photos. if you had it in your hand, you would say, "where'd it go?!" LOL
Hi Sharon
I found out I was not the only one having problems loading up the webpage. But now I am pleased to say it is working perfectly again- my friend emailed me the good news.
Claire

Hi
Love your dragonfly postcard. Can you help explain why just this last month it now takes 4minutes plus for any of the stitching fingers pages to load up. I have no problem with other websites. I love visiting the site but now find I do not have the time as it can take all morning just to see 2/3 pages.
