I am no expert by anyones standard!! But I have formed the flowers on my felt necklace by using a fabric stiffener called ''stiff stuff''
Basically I mixed up 1/2 stiff stuff with 1/2 water and then soaked my felt in it..next I squeezed it…
Thanks for such encouragement.
These are so easy to make...un-believably easy as long as sew beads on very secure as you will know.
What I enjoy best is that all oddments of beads can be used or those tubes of assorted beads that are reasonably pric…

- What aspect of textiles are you interested in?
- Dont ask...everything lol!! Belong to an embroidery group/bead group etc etc etc
I love to do Crazy quilting am in RR for this with people, and all forms of embroidery esp with beads!! Am learning silk ribbon embroidery too.
- Where did you learn your textle skills?
- Embroidery groups and Beadworkers Guild plus good friends and the Web ( huge help) Oh and forgot lol! Have done a home based Silk painting course plus an Opus beginners embroidery home learning course.
Opus was very good but based in the middle of UK so all the exhibitions etc were based in London area.
- Anything else you want to say to introduce yourself to the group??
- I adore textiles/laces/beads and love life and making good friends!

Thats such a great help to me.
Shall go purchase one for myself. I dont actually do needle felting ( as my hands will not allow because of health Rhum Arthur problems) but I do purchase beautifully made 100% wool felt to use.
I was confused as to what shape to make the rose petals, thats why I wanted a patten to use..this mould is perfect!
I have been asked to design a kit which is an honour for me, and I wanted to use an old english tea rose type or cabbage rose.
Only block I have at the moment is how to ''actually assemble'' the rose from seperate pieces. My felt flower necklace ( in my photo's) was made all in one peice just using layers of differing colours.
Any how...many many thanks for you valued friendship Barbara.

- Pam, I love your sea-themed pieces - the mermaid & seahorse especially. They really capture the sense of the sea. One of my favorite places - not seen too much in Kansas. LOL!

Glad you like my avatar! I made it by taking an impression from an old ornament I had, then used it as a mould. I made it out of air-dryed clay, then painted it!

But it is so calming to produce stock of coloured fabric although I have to become 200 years old to use some of it. The leave is overpainted with goldcolour. It feels somehow elastic, but anyway under the organda it is safe.
