Dear Anusha
I teach Japanese Embroidery and it needs to be taught in person. The best textbook for this is The Techniques of Japanese Embroidery by Shuji Tamura which is out of print. Used copies are available. Contact me for more info if you wish.

Thanks, Anusha, I dye a lot of my fabrics and yarns. I love to mix colors.

Hi Anusha,
Thank you for the suggestion. I looked at your photo album. So lovely. Did you do the lizard with bullion stitches? I think I will try to copy your beetles but not using beads. They are quite wonderful, as are your dragonflies.

Later I will post pictures of my first project, still in progress, a silk crazy quilt I am making for myself.

Thank you, Anusha,
I so enjoyed making this, as it took some thought about how to secure the berries(they were quite heavy!)

Hi Anusha, thanks for the compliment. To make that effect you simply make a stitch over the couching and then make wrapping stitches until you cover that stitch.
I´m glad you like it! :)

Thank you. I could have sold it many times but I keep it as a memento when I lived in Tenerife and this was my view to La Gomera.
I made tissue/muslin paper/dyed, pieces of silk...all laid down in strips. The sy is pieces of organza/vole etc... overstitched. The sea and sun shadow is machine stitched with varying weights of threads.
