"I really like this, these are so beautiful. Always tempted , but so complicated to do gloves that I never dare to try it."

"You're knitting is fantastic! The intricate patterns are a treat to the eye. (BTW, I was an elementary school teacher in the USA, and the first school that I taught at was Berkshire Elementary.)"

"Nicely done rendition of a traditional style!  The corrugated ribbing, fingertips, thumb gusset and finger bases all scream "magnificent workmanship."  Take a bow!  <insert applause here>"

Three Fingers and Thumb Back

The slightly smaller QR code is for the shortened url for my blog. Salt and pepper fingers and thumbs are quicker to knit and allow for easier length adjustment.

Profile Information

What textiles are you interested in?
A bit of a "Jack of all trades and master of none" trying out anything I like the look of.

Currently I am interested in hand made patchwork (English patchwork) and making pretty omiyage pieces in the Japanese tradition.
Where did you learn your textile skills?
Childhood when I enjoyed making things from scraps for my dolls. This progressed into making clothes for myself when I got bigger and then I had little dolls of my own - children. Creative tasks seemed to be put on hold although my kids always had the most fabulous hand knits. My kids are now adults and my interest in all things creative has been rekindled.
Is there anything else you'd like other members of Stitchin' Fingers to know about you? Please feel free to tell us a little bit about yourself by way of introduction.
I have become an almost obsessive collect or of of fabric and am often to be found rummaging through charity shops for fabrics to re-use. I have more fabrics than I know what to do with. Roll on retirement!
