Profile Information

What textiles are you interested in?
Where to begin? Vintage linens, velvets, embroidery and lace.
Where did you learn your textile skills?
Self-taught from books, experimenting and sharing with friends. I started sewing at a very young age making clothing for my doll house inhabitants. In my teens I made all my clothing using an old hand sewing machine and progressed to sewing for my children learning all sorts of skills on the way. Have attended workshops for needlelace and belonged to the Embroidery Guild when I lived in Cape Town, South Africa. Think I have tried almost everything at some time or another, just wish there were more hours in the day!
Is there anything else you'd like other members of Stitchin' Fingers to know about you? Please feel free to tell us a little bit about yourself by way of introduction.
I am primarily a miniature teddy bear artist. I use a lot of vintage textiles/lace, embroidery and beadwork on my creations. I also love embroidery, beading and crochet.
