Hi Grace, your leaves look great and it makes it easier for me to see how it's worked. I have a question. It looks like you used your centre vein wire as the attachment wire and used a separate wire to outline the leaves, is that correct? I'm new to…

Hi Everyone! I know that there are different levels of expertise that are participating in this stitch along. I'm new to stumpwork. It would really help me (and I assume others) if others would share their knowledge as we progress. I have several bo…

I don't know that much about shops in Lawrence. Don't get there nearly often enough! (Hmmm, hubby mentioned a road trip...thinking, thinking!) There is only one embroidery shop in Topeka. They have a great selection of flosses and fabrics, but not much of specialty threads. I asked for silk last time I was there and found only one small selection. Thanks for the invite to be a friend. If we find a good embroidery shops we must let each other know!

Addition - most of the Stumpwork photos are on pages 3 and 4, although there are a few on 1 and 2.

By the way Vicki, if you want to see more Stumpwork go to my photos. There are plenty of things there. Grace

Hi Vicki, the left-hand leaf has an attached vein with the wire going down the centre, turning and going around the leaf shape to the base and then a section left to put through the background material. The right-hand leaf was done in more of a hurry and the vein is a separate piece of wire. I am now working the petals but am using Anchor Stranded as I don't have DMC so I am having to change the colours a little. Grace

Hi Vicki

Have you got all your threads etc sorted and ready to stitch? I have been following the discussion on the project and there are some really interesting comments on overcast stitch verses buttonhole stitch over the wire. I have always used utton hole but am going to do the flower petals in overcast to see if they are ore delicate.
