Vera It looks like your crosses have the lacy edging. I'm going to have to try that. Nice pictures.

Ladies, I found a chart for the "Edelweiss". Hope you are able to work with it. If not, ask me. http://www.needlepointers.com/displaypage.aspx?ArticleID=26088&URL=http%3a%2f%2fwww.classicstitches.com%2fmain%2fknowHowIdx.aspx%3fcat%3dGloss Vera

Vera. I am putting in a photo of a mat I have made in Filet Lace. This has a design/stitch which I think is similar to what you call Edelweiss stitch. This one is worked on the surface but gives a lovely finished design. Isn't it interesting that all these "whitework" techniques seem to be related and overlap a lot. Grace

Whenever you find the time, I will certainly enjoy seeing your Schwalm and pulled thread embroidery, however long ago you made it. I have something to look forward to.

I don't think there is any need for you to stop the Hardanger group. There are a lot of people who do it, it is a very popular form. The only reason we are suggesting including other drawn thread in the pulled thread group is that there are people doing it with no proper place to find people who can help with questions. Personally, I think the Hardanger group is just fine where it is. I enjoy it.

Just today I looked at your website and found it very interesting. I like all your designs. They show your very personal approach to Hardanger.

Good morning Vera - I have just joined stitching fingers and would like to join the hardanger group. I am not sure whether this is the correct way to go about it but I could not get any where with the "Join the group" indicator. Hardanger is what first excited me about embroidery - I just love it. I started to learn hardanger as my first technique at an embroidery night school class twelve years ago. We spent a year exploring all aspects of hardanger - made a sampler and a large mat. I found it fascinating. I still attend the night classes - we have a wonderful tutor - and have since learnt many other techniques. It will be wonderful to talk to other people with the same love. Thanks Gail

http://www.hardanger-stoll.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=27_30&products_id=47

this are the links to the download charts.

But I have to talk with my provider, there is awful advertising especially in the shop.
Happy stitching
