Tatting Group?

Started this discussion. Last reply by Tania Kleckner Apr 1. 18 Replies

Is there any interest at all about forming a group focused on tatting?  If there is (and I'm really not sure because it is rather a dying art) I will ask Mary for permission to start one.Continue

"Clever idea and very nice execution.  What is the rhyme?  Red by yellow, kill a fellow.  Red by black, venom lack?  So king snakes aren't deadly, I guess.  8)"

Profile Information

What textiles are you interested in?
cross stitch, surface embroidery, quilting, crewel, tatting, plus all the others!
Where did you learn your textile skills?
I learned from my Grandma, she could do everything. She was a professional seamstress. She was my Mother's Mother. Her Father taught her how to knit and he was from Germany, so I knit continental style.
Is there anything else you'd like other members of Stitchin' Fingers to know about you? Please feel free to tell us a little bit about yourself by way of introduction.
I love Mary Corbett's blog; I read it practically every day, which is how I found out about this place. Her Medallion Project inspired me to get more into embroidery; I've been living in the quilting world for many years now.

I just posted on my blog about organizing Grandma's craft closet.  Here's the link:

I was telling Mary that I find it very soothing to bring order out of chaos.  8)

Twister Quilt Update

I updated my blog with some progress pictures of my latest Twister quilt here:

Now if I could just figure out how to quilt it I could finish sandwiching it up and get to quilting.

I just created an army of tiny little Valentine bears for Grandma Vivian's future Valentine's tree.  I posted about it on my blog at:

Dear Susan,

Thank you for your nice comments on the completion of my TAST-2012 sampler! It has been a busy few weeks for me with lots of teaching and a knitting and stitching show. This week will see a lot of catching up and some creation of new ideas for future courses and workshops.

Have a nice day, Jessica
