What textiles are you interested in?
I love crazy quilting, art and landscape quilts. I have been quilting for about ten years. I also knit but that comes second to the above. I also love to dye different fibers and textiles, silks and ribbons.
Where did you learn your textile skills?
College classes, but mostly self taught. Have been taking some crazy quilt classes.
Is there anything else you'd like other members of Stitchin' Fingers to know about you? Please feel free to tell us a little bit about yourself by way of introduction.
I truly love all arts. I work with gourds, did wood carving, lithographics, printmaking, acrylics and watercolor.
Majored in the arts in college. Took graduate classes in printmaking and lithographics. Texture and color are my thing.

I have been away....

Posted on April 7, 2010 at 14:50 0 Comments

I tend to wander off on what shall we call it.....mmmm, ok let's call it creative binges. But I always come back. I have added many new photo's trying to catch up. Does anone else have trouble signing in? SF seems to forget my password everytime and it gets a little tiresome..... not complaining just frustrating. To my Aussie friends never fear I still hate dusting. I avoid it until someone leaves me a message written in the dust. LOL I shall try to post more often, but don't hold your breath.… Continue

I have given up on dusting.....! My heart just wasn't into it. This morning the dust bunnies that roam my home asked for some holiday cheer. So I have decided not to sweep them away, but to put little bows on them and call them pets. That should take care of it, don't you think. Now back to stitching as this Christmas I have pledged to give mostly hand made. What was I thinking..... But actually enjoying it. Shall post photos soon. Ta da or is that Fa la la. I have forgotten how to dust....

Posted on November 3, 2008 at 18:25 6 Comments

Yup, it's true. I have been so involved with my stitching, that I have forgotten how to dust. LOL. Not really but it sure looks like it around here. So I made a deal with myself. Every morning 1 hour of cleaning ,straightening up, and yes dusting. If I do this I can then and only then pick up the needle and thread and wonder off to my creative endeavors. I'll keep you posted. Don't hold your breath. Sharon

Sharon, glad you are going to try Lucy's rose..with your talent you should do it easily...you will like it. It is really nice done in the varieagated ribbons. You might even end up with your own version. Glad to find someone who has all these little dustball friends....I have just attacked some of them...in between sewing and blogging.

Sharon, thanks for your kind comment.
I have made several bowls , they are not yet in Stitchin fingers. They are machine sewn.........In september, I will be retired, and my husband will be moving for remplecemnt in Guyana, Martinique, and so on, so it will be difficult for me to organize my life, so, that I can understand what you say when you write that life is too full..to short also.
I hope that your absence (and silence( was not health problems.
I like very much your style and creations!

How thoughtful to stop bye Sharon.
Glad you approve of my first felt necklace Sharon. I so enjoyed making it..both the felting and also getting my silk paints out to do dyeing again!
I love anything Shabby chic style...so was thinking of maybe making these flowers etc in pretty dusty pinks etc.
I drapped the necklace over a glass mirrow last eve ( just to put it somewhere) and was so pleasantly surprised what a delightful ornament these would make? They seemed to look just perfect for the look I love...and it was all accidental too lol!
I peeped at your photo's sharon..beautiful work you do too.
Loved those hearts title ''Pay it forward'' were they hard to make? What did you use for a pattern? They are so lovely for little cheap items to make for charity sales as not so much fabric to buy.
