Profile Information

What textiles are you interested in?
I enjoy using different fabrics and threads to create original embroidery using stumpwork, threadpainting and 'whatever happens next' techniques. I have recently attended workshops and have learnt how to make full wool felt and nuno felt. I am currently experimenting with these techniques and making felt out of my dog's fur. It is surprisingly lovely! I am interested in all aspects of textiles though haven't had the chance to learn more about how to make them. When I saw your website I was blown away by the incredibly beautiful work people are creating. There is a whole world of interesting stuff. Thank you for letting me be part of your group.
Where did you learn your textile skills?
I attended four stumpwork classes, in Perth. From learning the basics I have learned the rest from reading embroidery books, magazines, internet and experimentation. I also attended two workshops to learn how to make felt and am just beginning to experiment with those techniques.
Let us know you are not a spammer. Is there anything else you want to say to introduce yourself to the group?
I am a 'Lone' member of the Embroiderers' Guild of Western Australia. I used to belong to one of the groups when I lived in the city. I live remote, on the edge of a desert in Kalgoorlie WA. Thus the reason I was so happy to find this lovely website.
