24/8 Spent weekend at Festival of Quilts in Birmingham......very enjoyable, lots of quilts and hangings to look at and stalls to make you add to your stash!!!!!!!!!!!!
Have just spent 3 days at Loch Lomond Quilt Show, and it gets better every year, quilts galore, visitors from France, Italy, America, Australia, Ireland even England!!!!!!!!!
29/6....Spent weekend at Stirling Uni......Quilters Guild.Scottish Branches...Friday to Sunday, tutors, food and good company.and lots of laughter.........Dutch Lady.."Maaike Bakker" was the tutor of the class I picked and it was great.......designing a Foundation piece...........On Saturday night, before talk, tutors had books and bits and pieces to sell..and then "Gail Lawther's talk, 35 small wallhangings of her trip to New Zealand...wonderful........full flow for an hour, with no hesitation.wish I could do that..........then at 3.45 ...Fire Alarm..........thankfully it was a mild night........reason for alarm..someone burnt toast!!!!!!!!!!........roll on 2 years time for the next one!!!!!!!
20/7 A fortnight ago travelled to Bridge of Earn to see "The LimeTarts" Exhibition.it was excellent, 4 very clever people.......Did a 2 hour class in afternoon "Silk Corsage" now know what to do with silk rods bought some time ago!!!!!!!!!! It was a great day and on way back, took a different route home and cadged my tea at friends in Edinburgh. On Saturday 19/7 was at Quilters Gld Area Day, held in Wallneuk Church in Paisley......it had been arranged for 4th with an American theme.......so 3 corners in morning, Amish, Applique and Boston Tea Party..items made out of tea bags!!!!! Then lunch Hot Dogs, Coca Cola and brownies and then a Stars & Stripes pinchushion to make.....all in all an excellent day arranged by Andrea & Fiona, retiring reps for Renfrewshire & Glasgow Districts of QG
