Finished my Bee Eater which was Trish Burr's class online. Did not take as long as I thought it would and for my first piece I am real happy with it. I also made my Ribbon Art Lady, took a class with Arlene Baker and got the pattern from her in class. These were originally made in the 1920s to 1950s and original ones sell for about $100.00 when you can find them. Have knitted and crocheted all kinds of scarfs, sweaters and a knitting bag, and…

I am leaving Illinois in 7 days, my son flies in Saturday the 23rd and then 3-4 days to drive home. My friend had her last chemo and now will go on maintenance, but is doing much better. Have a new Great Grandson I have not met yet so excited to go home and live in my home. Will be catching up on my TAST stitching as soon as I get home.

Have a wonderful Easter with all your families, I am still in Illinois taking care of my friend so I am 2000 miles away from home, but will celebrate with my friend. Have done so much stitchin and knitting and crocheting that I have finished alot of projects so that feels good, just putting the finishing touches on the shawl I am working on.

Excited about TAST starting tomorrow, can hardly wait for the stitches weekly. Just returned from Yosemite spending Christmas with my son and his family and got sick with Bronchitis, antibiotics working.

Bernadette said… Thank you Rose Mary for the kind words. I love your site. I live in two suspended worlds. I care for my 2 year old grandson and my 3 year old grand daughter during the week. My time to myself is in this beautiful world of patience and color. Each place makes me appreciate the other. One exhausts me, the other exhilerates me, yet both give me immense joy. Bet you can guess which one is which!
Bernadette said… I am humbled you would add me to your list of friends. You work and enthusiasm for the art gives me great encouragement to persevere. This place is so fascinating. I could burst with excitement sometimes thinking about the kaleidoscope of people who bring their traditions and history and artistry here for all of us to partake in. I am kind of computer illiterate so every thing that draws me closer to communicating and learning in this venue is challenging and rewarding. Hope to have a long wonderful friendship. Bernadette
Grace Lister said… Rose Mary, thank you so much for your kind comments. I feel quite big-headed now. I have embroidered all my life and just love it and I think that is the secret of it really. Obviously the more you do embroidery, the better you get at it. I do have one qualification in the subject - a City and Guilds one - but I took that a long time after I had started the craft. I was 50 at the time and what was taught then really opened my eyes to things. Anyway, thank you again for looking at my photos and I am so pleased you liked them.

Carol N-B said… I have much pleasure in accepting. Have you really taken classes with Gloria McKinnon? Wow. Purchased BOM Priscilla Ladies together with silk sashing and backing fabric, but have to admit it still resides in its original packing. Have recently purchased her book and a silk scissor tabard. Would be interest to know what her classes were like.
Your SR embrodiery is stunning.
