I also belong to Cloth Doll Artistry. They have a Holiday Ornament Challenge at the moment. This is my entry. The Doll is Snooze by Suzette Rugolo the smocked ornament is my pattern.
HI Judith
I started making cloth dolls for my daughter about 22 years ago and have been making them since. I did my first sculpted about 7 years ago. I used Barbara Willis's technique for the face onmy stump doll. It is only the second one I have ever made. Your doll is beautiful I'll look forward to seeing more of them. Practice is the key.
Peta
Peta,
I saw your doll, and she is so much nicer in the flesh!
Every time I wandered past the dolls it was crowded except once, and the two people on duty didn't have your name tag on, so we were ships passing in the night, ....well, in the day!
Peta, thanks for your comment. No, my leave will be alone....;;or almost.
I like your presentation of page on Stitchin fingers; I know also your site, where I go, but without comment (sometimes difficulties for searching the right word.......O do I am lazzy?);)
I was at the craft fair on Saturday, but the doll stand was crowded when I went past, and unfortunately I didn't get back. But then, I didn't know there would be someone with stitchin fingers there, as I have just found your profile and blog. Maybe next year!
Hi, Peta. I read your comment on the Cloth Dolls group and decided to check out your blog and flickr sites. I really like your Rain Forest girl with her mushroom friend. He/she/it(?) has a great face! I was surprised and pleased to see MY blog on your favorites list, along with a lot of my own favorites. I am now checking out the ones I don't know. Looks like some new favorites for me!
Oh, by the way. I think a Flickr page for the CD group would be great. We have a lot of talented members in that group!
