As I close down my end of the fall colors swap, I find myself looking for email addresses for Leslie and Allyson. I received lovely cards from both. Leslie sent a card with a lot of embroidery work, almost a sampler card in fall colors. Allyson sent…

Just received my halloween card from Shaidy (aka Rhona) with three disco diva ghosts dancing against a black background with incredible colored witches, stars, and bats. Her embroidery work is amazing. She even embroidered my address. And, on the ba…
Rhona -- So sorry. I'm new at being in a group and didn't realize that you had left me a note asking me to send you an email. Then when I finally found it, I indicated that I wanted to be your friend and your email address disappeared. Would you res…

Barbara,
Count me in. Having just moved from Ann Arbor Michigan to Savannah Georgia, I miss the fall colors and would like to immerse in them.
- Mary Lou
I am interested in all aspects of art quilts: dyeing fabrics, beading, photo transfers, stamping, free-form quilting.
Where did you learn your textle skills?
My basic skills were learned as a young girl. (In my family, lots of our clothes were "handmade.") I've taken several workshops. I also teach at the Savannah College of Art and Design and am constantly exposed to new methods and materials.
Anything else you want to say to introduce yourself to the group??
This website has the most innovative collection of work I've yet seen. I accessed it by searching under the keyword "fabric postcards," a medium (?) I'm exploring.

Hi MaryLou, The leaf is made from a product called Lutradur - a fibrous sheet that is apparently washable. If have done little with it so far, other than using it in cards and ATC's and under the embellisher. I just need a little more time to explore what it is capable of! Dryer sheets may be a similar product - they are something I don't use so I don't have a basis on which to compare.
Thank you so much for the fantastic card, it arrived when I was away and was a lovely treat when I got home, I think I will have these pumpkins on display all year round!!
Thank you, Marja. It's the first time I've participated in a swap. Your enthusiasm and fast response have been so rewarding. I read that your card used hand dyed wool, hand-felted and embellished. Sounds like you have explored exciting avenues.
Hello Mary Lou, your lovely card made it across the Atlantic!
It took only 6 days to come here.
I like your card with lovely colors of fall very much! Beautiful stitching and beads, thank you so much!
Marja.
The card from me to you went into the US mail system on Wednesday. Heaven knows how long it will take to get to you. I live here in the south where things can be slow. In fact, people have referred to my town, Savannah, as Slow-vania. Hope you enjoy when you do get it.
Hello Mary Lou, will you please send me an email on:
marjamaas@chello.nl there I'll mail you my adress for the postcard, I'm looking forward to it!
