Not much activity in this thread, is that because beading takes so long :-)
I've finished the beading on my Phase II Japan bead embroidery, Calm Flow.
It has taken me 4 months and I beaded pretty much every day on it, although only for a short t...
Hi Ann. The edges are flat against the fabric, but the large trianges just inside are padded, the centre is also raised. I have written about the different techniques I used on my blog.
I have also written about the technique I am using on my cur...
This is beautiful. I am curious, it is hard for me to tell, is it all flat up against the material or is the edge lifted off? Simply beautiful. I really want to learn to be able to make beaded motifs. I have trouble with getting my beads to lay fl...
I think my favorite stitches are bullion knots, feather stitch, stem stitch and buttonhole stitch. But I try other stitches as an exercise in each block .
Thankyou
Both are very addictive you will enjoy both
I'm working out a crocodile piece for my grandson at the moment to do in goldwork but have to finish one on a frame first
thank you for your comment Marie. I have been embroidering for many years now and just thoroughly enjoy doing it, or at least most of it. Like everyone else there are things I like more than others. If only I had 48 hours in a day is my constant refrain!! Grace
Hi Marie, Thanks for the nice comments. I've missed "talking" with you. I still haven't started doing much with this website. I really have a difficult time figuring it out. Maybe I just hop around too much to stay with it long enough to get a handle on it. It's the "old dog, new tricks" thing!! I'm starting a new crazy quilt project today so I'm off again. I'll keep checking in. Maureen
Hey Marie, I have a question for you. When you make cast-on stitches that stand alone, like as a sort of trim or a single flower, do you tack them down? I have, otherwise the scallop tends to wave up or stand up. A little stitch seems to hold them in place well. Just wondered if you do the same. :)
Hi Marie...I wasn't able to post a message myself on your blog...no google account...but maybe you can still add my response and include me in the drawing...please?
I think we have a theme going here!
Just call me Empress III :)
Love your idea...it's great.
