Profile Information

What textiles are you interested in?
Quilting, knitting, embroidery, felting, hand dyed / hand painted fabric and yarns, mixed media textiles, crazy quilting, slow cloth
Where did you learn your textile skills?
Learned crochet as a child. Took quilting classes starting in the late 90's, the most memorable and influential workshop was with Caryl Bryer Fallert. Worked at a LYS/LQS for several years where I learned to knit and expanded my quilting knowledge. Embroidery and crazy quilting has been mainly self-taught, with lots of inspiration from blogs and Quilting Arts magazine. Sharon Boggon's websites have been especially helpful and influential on my recent embroidery work.

Love all things textile. Interests and influences include: Architecture and Interiors, Fine Arts, Art Deco, Art Nouveau, Bauhaus, Swedish Modern, Japanese art and design, Charles Rennie Mackintosh and Margaret MacDonald Mackintosh, Frank Lloyd Wright, Archaeology and History
