What aspect of textiles are you interested in?
I create art textiles inspired by the natural world and I enjoy exploring ways of interpreting sketches directly onto fabric. Besides printing paintings and photos onto fabric using the computer, I am constructing densely quilted pieces overpainted with acrylic paint. Ethnic textiles are a passion - I have a collection of kasuri, ikats, kanthas , kuba cloth etc and I've started incorporating scraps of these into my work. Currently I am experimenting with layering printed silk organzas

Margaret - Thanks for getting back this way. Blogger does funny things sometimes - most times I get an email address but sometimes a 'donotreply" - there are times I wonder why I stay there!

That is fine Margaret. --I hadn't read your message about producing a challenge until yesterday so it really serves me right! I decided I want to continue last year's momentum and I am just missing the challenge so much - I thought I would be happy to play with themes but wasn't so comfortable with colour and you are talented there. Maybe I will just have a one woman challenge!!!

I am tempted to join .the title today is..' after seeing "the blue chair" and maybe pick one a month - there is no way I could embroider one a week and my drawing is certainly not up to public viewing!!!.

regards
Margb

Margaret, I really love the work you have here. Your textures are wonderful. I've also visited your blog since the Studio Journal class and it, too, is a pleasure to read. I did chuckle that you like Great Big Sea--they are hometown boys for me. Good choice.

Love your work! The colors, the textures. I can get lost in them. 8-]

The advantage of drawing plants over animals is that plants don't move. They can be more intricate with all the patterns and layers (in space), but I really enjoy drawing the curves and arcs and different shapes of the leaves.

I haven't given up on the blog. I just have too much going on at once and have been procrastinating in giving it the attention it needs. Once the ball gets rolling it will be easier to keep it up.

Margaret, we not only share a first name, but also an interest in ethnic textiles. I find them gloriously inspiring.

Margaret I really love your work. I think in real life it is even more interesting than the pictures.
