My sis and me recently got this embroidered object from a woman who thought we might want to "harvest" the beads for our own beading. I think it's a shame to rip up this pretty beadwork and want to…Continue

Profile Information

What textiles are you interested in?
I'm a sucker for silk and to some extent linen. Always curious about more unusual fibres too. My interest in embroidery encompass beadwork, goldwork, stumpwork, ribbon embroidery and mixed media.
Where did you learn your textile skills?
As a kid in school and later from books and online. And then just experimenting on my own.
Is there anything else you'd like other members of Stitchin' Fingers to know about you? Please feel free to tell us a little bit about yourself by way of introduction.
I'm a beader and jewellery maker. As a kid I did some embroidery, both in school and in my spare time. Apart from bead embroidery, I haven't done much needlework since I grew up -- other creative pursuits got in bewteen -- but these last couple of years my interest in embroidery has blossomed again as I got to a point in my beading and jewellery making where the textile materials started to beckon me and I discovered exciting new types of embroidery I more or less never new about such as stumpwork and ribbon embroidery.

Thank you! Especially the woven cuff is a great piece of art (and labour!).
