Thank you so much for your kind words, Mandy.  The iris was a great study for me. I wish I had a background in this field it would give me more confidence if not just comfort, but I think of nothing else. I stitch in my imagination to fall asleep! I have never felt so connected to anything outside my family that is.

Hi Mandy

How frustrating not to be able to have your books handy. The South East is so expensive to live these days! I lived in Sutton for a while before we moved to Canada. Hope you enjoy the embroidery show.

cheers, Frances

Hi Mandy

I am a real fan of Jan Beaney and Jean Littlejohn. I note you live in Surrey - I would love to take a course from them, but am debating whether I really want to spend the $ to go to Italy! Do you know their work? They travel within the UK giving talks and courses I believe. Here is the link to their website - I see they're going to be in Cheltenham in April: http://doubletrouble-ent.com/

Hi Mandy

thanks for asking me to be your friend. I'm learning hand-embroidery techniques, and love high relief stitches that I can use in my landscapes. Glad you like my work - it's fun to do.

Thanks you for your kind words Mandy! What a lot of needlework types you do! I am so jealous that you were an instructor . I am still learning and feel like there is so much to learn, I could never actually teach unless I had to.
