Anything with yarn, thread and/or fabric involved in some way. I knit, sew, stitch, do some free machine embroidery and also make some felt. Sometimes I do some dressmaking, and I also enjoy making new things from old or scrap fabric. I find my fabrics in charity shops as well as salvaging the fabric from old shirts, skirts, and old clothing that is no longer wearable. I also buy new fabric, but that tends to be for specific projects.
Where did you learn your textle skills?
Mostly self-taught. Based round a fascination with texture and fabrics in particular. I attended a Textiles course, a local evening class which taught me how to felt My knitting skills were learnt from my maternal grandmother and also my mum.

An enthusiastic amateur, keen to try any interesting technique which I feel will improve my "work".

Thank you for noticing my two bobbin lace pieces. The two designs are similar but not identical. They both use a central motif called the peasant spider, which I fell in love with when i saw it, and just had to find a way to incorporate it into my lace. I'll see if I can find a better photo of the pink and green piece. That one was very difficult to photograph.
Hi Mandy, Thanks for your kind words. The suede is soft enough but the secret is not to make tight stitches to avoid to wrinkle the taffeta, besides that, both materials work and look good enough together.
