Can anyone recommend an online source for knit ffesh colored fabric for doll faces? I tried googling it, but it seems like lots of places offer plush, but I want a knit I can needle-sculpt that has no fuzziness....
Thanks for any help you can give...
I've posted a few pix of some wonderful quilts from the Road to California Quilt Show '09, in Ontario California. Check out my blog at http://purple-fan.blogspot.com. Wish I had time to have taken more!
I'm guessing that you are looking for either cotton interlock or cotton jersey in a knit. I have used both. Jersey is probably more popular. If it's white you can stain it with coffee or tea. If it comesw out too "beige" you might want to add some fruity herbal teas! Hope this helps
Thanks so much. I've been really enjoying hand work this past year....now it seems I can't stop. I keep getting more and more ideas....especially being surrounded by so many artists!

Hi Lynne,
Thank you so much for taking the time so have a look at my pictures, I'm really fond of the Kingfisher too, he came out quite well! I also really liked your postcard of "Me on a needle", really imaginative and beautiful colours! I enjoyed your blog and will add it to my bloglist!

Four of the photos I have posted on my page are bobbin laces: nl1, f4, r12 and r27. They are all pieces I have designed and made. I've been making bobbin lace since about 1980, but I enjoy embroidery, too. In fact I started pulled thread embroidery long before I ever found a bobbin lace teacher. Once I began doing bobbin lace everything else fell by the wayside: knitting, crochet also. But now I've been doing some embroidery for the last 4 years. Truly I enjoy both.

Thank you Lynne for your comments about my work.I am not into cutsy at all ,I prefer art dolls to the pretty, pretty type.My autumn leaves are wired silk and organza, some trimmed with scissors some with a soldering iron, that was scary to do in case they went up in flames!!
Lynne,
I absolutely love your pink and blue crazy quilted block! The kimono is also exquisite. Your work is awesome. And I am not usually a fan of needle felting but your tulips are beautiful (am I right that they are needlefelted). I joined stitchin fingers a few weeks ago and tonight I am just randomly clicking on members to see what lovely things I can find! Sandi
