SPRING BREEZE

As the spring breeze blows;
The sun shines down;
It makes the flowers grow;
All from the ground;
And the birds sing;
The bees hum;
The trees sway;
In the breeze;
As the sun shines down.

What I Have Been Doing

I have been away from Stitchin' Fingers for a long time. Oh, I would pop in here and there, but just have been kinda silent. The past year of my life has been really busy! I have started a local CQ group here in sunny and right now very hot Bastrop, Tx. The group has taken a little of my time so to speak. I have been working on a compitition quilt. My first. I am trying to get the word out about CQ so these are the two place that I have started. I have been working on all kinds of Round Robins.… Continue

My Photo Block

I thought that I would start my blog with the story behind my photo block. I am a CMA, Phelebotomist. Right now I am working as a Phelebotomist for a company who services nursing homes. I am running a route of 5 nursing homes. Two out of my 5 are in a poor county. They have r… Continue

Sadly no Lyn. It seems usless and it should have worked by now to ease. Its Tramadol 12 hour slow release ( but a glass of wine would work better lol!!)
I ache in all fingers/wrists all of the time :O( Never mind.........be fine! I am working through the aches,no good to let it get to me and doing some practise stitching today.
Am trying out a leaf in Bullion knots/stitches using just 1 strand of embroidery plain old DMC thread in dark green. I saw the idea in a magazine which had an article for Mountmellick embroidery. This type of embroidery is normally done in white Coton-a -broder its says...But I thought ''Hmmmm why not in green 1 strand of floss''?
I must say''am very impressed Lyn with the outcome''All this talk of special threads like expensive Brazillan floss...is nonsense really. I know it has a lovely shine...but these plain old DMC is also beautiful as matte and neat.
I hope you are feeling more stress free with your car problems etc least you have a car to loan!!
Thanks for calling bye.

Hi Lyn, thanks again for the comment. Yesterday, I was taking some stitches out of something I have been working on for a few weeks (more butterflies) and ripped a 2.5 inch hole in the fabric! I'll have to abandon it :((

Meanwhile, the beach is indeed lovely.

Hi Lyn

Thank you. I really do enjoy hand embroidery at the moment. It is so much fun to do this little samplers .

The Kitty is just sooooo cute. Always looking for someone to pet her and to play with her ;-))) She is just such a darling.

Your spring breeze quilt is beautiful and the poem just fit's in perfectly. Could you tell me how you did these trees on there ?

I would love to come and help you! Too bad we live so far apart and our lives are so busy. You sound like you have tons of projects. Good for you! I would love to start an embroidery group here but I doubt that I could or would get much interest. How did you start yours? How did you get interest? Did you advertise? Do you charge anything?
Big Hugs,
Wendy

I have too many "latest projects." LOL But isn't that how it is? I just finished working on a block with a pond. I put cattails around it and some flowers. I have a long term project of making princess blocks for my daughter Rebekah's princess quilt. It is coming along. And I have a couple other monogram pillows I am working on for people who were married before I started the craze. LOL
How about you? What is new with your embroidery?

Thanks for your comment Lyn. At the moment I wish I could inspire myself (!) as I'm in a bit of a rut at the moment so there is not much activity on the blogging or any other front. However, I've no doubt it will pass and at least with sites like these, there's inspiration everywhere you look.
