With any luck yours will have survived the best efforts of Australia Post and will arrive soon! Postcards sent from th UK by my partner arrived here a fortnight after he had returned home so anything is possible, I guess! I'm glad you liked it....I will post the pics on the ATC blog now that you have your card!
lorna you can try India's blog it's very good "not all who wander are lost"

this is a quick run down- the flowers just sit on the silk, you bundle them up tightly and steam over a stainless steel pot (keep it just for this, not your cooking pots) for an hour. take them out let them go cold. and check out the magic. The type of metal pot, the sort of water will all change the colours. some flowers don't give colour. it's time and experiments.. i love the Eucalypt dyes, they smell really good when you boil them. I did a week course with India, making felt, stitching and then dyeing with plants...so nice to feel like your creating the Fabric. It isn't the sort of colours that appeal to everyone...they don't have the vibrance of man make colour.
Lorna, there is another photo there now of the result. It dyes the silk, leaving magic patterns. Eucalyptus leaves are great especially on wool. You can wear the scarf...make skirts, or cut fabric up to make ATC's. have a look at www.Indiaflint.com.au , if you have time
Hey Lorna, I was about to send you a 'virtual box of chocolates' through this new Ning thingy, but when I read the terms, it seems we have to pay them via Paypal!!!! So I cancelled it...but at least I thought of you - LOL!
Hugs
Gina
HI, you are so welcome for the silk. I like to take a long, maybe 1 yard piece and attach one end to the wall, like with a push pin. Then I twist it really tight until it acts like it wants to curl up. At this point I fold it in the middle and make the ends meet. Holding the ends together I smooth it out with the other hand and it creates buttonhole twist! Have fun. :)
Hi! So glad to know it arrived at last! Yep, we bewitched it into getting there didn't we? Yes, the fat cat is done in bullion stitch. Fabric fusion background by moi. I had so much fun making that and love how it turned out. Surrounding beadwork is ogallala stitch I learned from Jo in NZ's tutorial.
I'm happy you like it! :)
Hi Lorna!
I wondered what was taking it so long to reach you. The strikes explain it. Although I have another person I sent something to in the UK and hers arrived. I suppose it must be hit and miss. Hopefully it will get there soon. I am enjoying yours. The Day of the Dead theme is very fun, your stitching is great. And the spiderweb cover is very clever! Thanks so much!
