Hi All, Haven't been here for ages. I have had such a busy year. I finally made a doll though. Below is a photo of my Fairy riding a Frog. The challenge for our display at the Adelaide Quilt and Craft Show which was on last week was a Doll riding ...

I think that a consensus of stiff or not would work OK. One of the beauties of a book like this is that each page will be unique. Using different stabilizers will just add to the experience! Kath, if you cannot find the heavy-weight craft Pellon, ...

I agree. I'm so glad this group is pretty chatty! I'm sure we will keep the network humming all year with this project. Can't wait to get started - oh, except for all the other projects I need to get done first! LOL!

Profile Information

What aspect of textiles are you interested in?
embroidery, quilting, postcards, collage, cloth dolls, - the list is endleess! Just about anything to do with fabric and thread. Since I retired from the day job, Textiles is my job!
Where did you learn your textle skills?
Early stitching was taught by an elderly neighbor who I called Robbie. We spent hours listening to radio soaps and crocheting or tatting. Learned some additional skills from Mom and Grandma - including machine sewing, but a lot has been self-taught - or day classes.

Hey Liz!
What size cellophane envelopes do you get for FPCs? Is it the 6 1/4 x 4 1/2 ? It seems like that size would work.

Hi Liz
I just checked the 'file' in the group. There were only 4 names in the list for the fpc. The way I am reading is that you swap with Gina and I swap with RoseMarie. I am happy to make a card for you and will get started right NOW.

Thank you, Liz. I saw a book "Collaborate Quilting" - in February this year - by Freddie Moran and Gwen Marston (whom I love). I made a rough copy. I hope Gwen would have agreed had I asked her in advance. My inspiration is her book "Liberated Quilt…

Hi Liz
Actually Stumpwork is one of the subjects I have not done at the RSN but I did use my knowledge to self-teach myself! I did a couple of C&G distance courses but the teacher was not too great so I was very frustrated. This made me complete loads of research and study work by Roy and Barbara Hirst, and others. It was very up-hill for a long time:) Thank you for your very kind words. Kristina
