texture, color, drape, sheen, maleability during construction, burn/melt results, visual texture, process, emotions while stitching (does it feel good?)... gosh, i could go on!
Where did you learn your textle skills?
remember those cards with holes and shoe strings? i got a couple for christmas as a very young girl. i recall lacing them over and over again, and when i was finally bored, i knew i was ready for *real* sewing. i can still remember that exact moment when the light went on and i was hooked. my mom got me started; mostly i'm self-taught.
Anything else you want to say to introduce yourself to the group??
you can take the girl out of san francisco, but you can never take san francisco out of the girl!
Hi Lauren!
Yes, I do have my book and I've been reading it off and on. I haven't had a chance to try any of the techniques, though, because I've been busy making ornaments, ATCs and a postcard for swaps I'm participating in here on stitchinfingers.
Still, I am hoping to find the time soon - probably after Christmas - to really sit down and try some of the great techniques in that book. I know basically nothing about working with ribbon, so it will be good experience for me, I'm sure.
On the work issue, I agree, what goes around comes around! :)
I hope your holiday shows go well for you. I'd love to see what all you do. If you happen to take photos maybe you can post some more?
Take care and Happy Holidays!

Hello there! After visiting your blog, I'm even more grateful I found you! Your color palette & style are a real inspiration--thanks for sharing your work!
Hi Lauren,
Would you consider sharing your technique for making ribbon flowers? They are gorgeous and are very unique. I'd love to learn how you do it if you're willing to share.

Hi Lauren!
Thanks for your kind words about my totebags. I don't actively market them, but occasionally someone will ask to buy one, and usually I will sell it....
Happy Stitching,
Allie
Thanks for your comment of my logo. I really looking forward to see your arm chair sewing caddy whem it is finish. I really like the photos you have, it is eyecandy.
I'm so glad Ms Verbena arrived. I put some pictures of her on my blog.
Last year I attended the Crazy Quilt Conference in Omaha, Nebraska. Most of her embellishments came from the conference. The hair was from the fiber exchange, the leaves, charms and beads were gifts from my conference roomies. The vine was also purchased there.
I'm glad you like her.
