Laurel replied to christina richards's discussion Dealing with 'Creative block'........
"I often get creative blocks, especially right after finishing a project, when I feel both empty handed and empty headed.  I keep a sketch book that I doodle in at different times, and I look back at those.  I also keep a poster board where…"

Hello Laurel. I agree having a wool felting base for stitching is lovely.  I look forward to seeing more of your art. Hugs Judy

Please let me know when you visit the Cape next and we'll set up a time to get together in my studio.

Hi Laurel! It's very helpful that we both kept our maiden names in making connections from long ago. And yes, things are great here in Falmouth, although quite cold this week. Virginia must be a nice change for you. I'm glad to see that you are exploring stitching! Were you in Nancy Chute's 4H sewing class?

Feeling close to your Mother, Cousin and GrandMother while your stitching is not strange at all! It reflects in your work as I have had a smile on my face the whole time looking at your wall. I find myself saying to you that we're so proud of you and this is where you belong!

Thank you for sharing your sunshine!

Great to be your friend too... I meant every word about your Laurel... even if you didn't stitch the TAST logo :)

I started stitching in 2007 when I was sick and had to leave work... its been a wonderful journey.... My mother sewed and so does my cousin and my great grandmother... I feel close to them when I'm working... isn't that strange?

Love your work, I just noticed some huge spiders webs in my garden... always get them this time of year in our little garden in East London England.... I love your work... its vibrant and alive and sooo full of feeling... a bit like a vangough ... Stitchinfingers is a lovely lovely place isn't it? How long have you been stitching?

I'm very glad having you as my new stitching friend! I really admire your works!

Ooh, Laurel, I don't think I could be that particular about having to use the 'correct' fabric for a piece of stitching, even if it is for a course. I like to choose what I think works for the project. Pity your item didn't pass just because of that.
