What a piece! I have never done anything this extravagant myself, but after seeing this I just might! Absolutely gorgeous and I don't recall ever seeing beads used like this before.

Profile Information

What aspect of textiles are you interested in?
Counted thread embroidery (mostly cross stitch, decorative stitches and hardanger), crazy quilting, sane quilting. I enjoy designing my own pieces rather than following a pattern, and prefer traditional vs. contemporary.
Where did you learn your textle skills?
Self-taught. My mother, a phenomenal knitter, always encouraged me to have handwork.

I hope you post pictures when you're finished. I'd love to see it! I've been hoarding Hardanger books of all sorts lately, and hanging out at eBay a lot to see what I can find. I've managed to find a lot of the old Award Winning Designs books online that way, and finding other sites that sell Hardanger books.

Did you try copy/pasting it in the address bar? Anyway, as soon as I saw that picture, I recognised it right away. I tried to email the person, but it came back as undeliverable. :-(

Hi Kimberly!
When I first signed in to this group, yours was the first thumbnail I rolled across, and I immediately recognised your name from the tablecloth you did for the 1998 Award Winning Designs book. I've admired that pattern for some time now, but don't know that I would ever get around to actually stitching it. I have so many other things already planned! Anyway, I just ran across your tablecloth again a few weeks ago; someone else had stitched it and posted a picture of it on their website. Here it is, if you'd like to take a look:

HI Kimberly!
You know, of all the ornaments I've made this year those green plaid ones have gotten the most favorable responses from friends. I really like the way they turned out and plan to make some more. My mom has a couple on order!

Hi Kimberly!
I received your lovely card yesterday, thanks so much! And, you are very welcome for the ornament. I had a lot of fun making them. By the way, which one did you get? I made three fans and am curious to know which one your received.
Take care and Merry Christmas!

Hi Kimberly, thanks for the lovely compliment on my stitching! To do my borders, I use a product called Waste Canvas and my own charted borders from my book. I don't know if I'm allowed to mention it here so I'll just say that you can find my book in the sidebar on my blog. http://www.kittyandme.com/

Thanks again for your compliments!

Hi, Kimberly! I can't believe that, to imagine to take my needlework in the church is here unthinkable ;-)) , but amusing.
I think we are looking forward to see your creations.
And congratulation that Nordic Needle has published them.

My design is really without cross stitch, but I created small patches with Swarowsky rhinestones and pearls for applying on a jeans, bag or something else for a magazine here in Switzerland.
I want to motivate the young stitchers. Here in Europe and special here in Switzerland no one is stitching.

Maybe I can help to do a little step for the future.

Happy stitching
Vera
