I have dabbled in many crafts, but my main loves are Crazy Quilting and Redwork. I am still new to Embroidery so hope to widen my knowledge of stitches. I enjoy making crochet granny squares and I also have started making quilt as you go hexagons.
Where did you learn your textle skills?
I was taught to knit by my grandmother, and sewing by my mother. I am a self taught craft enthusiest.
Hi Kim-Marie..Just back from quilt Convention in Melbourne ..I will have some pics of a nice variation to detached Buttonhole and shall post them as soon as I unpack..best regards Brenda
Hi Kim-Marie,
Glad to hear you are safe.
The weather is cooler for now here in Adelaide and I can finally do a bit more constructive stitching.
I am just about finished a japanese embroidery piece which has taken about 4 months to do - will post some photos when done.
I have enrolled in Sharon's Crazy Quilting class, which starts next week, so am looking forward to that as I have never attempted anything like this before.
What are you working on at present?
Cheers, Iris
Hi Kim-Marie I mostly love living here in mostly cool and temperate South Gippsland. When we moved here 20 years ago people warned us it was so wet..the common joke was that it rained for 9 months of the year and dripped off the trees for three...but we must have brought the dryness of the Western District of Victoria with us because it hasn't been like that here for quite a few years. Thanks for your kind words Kim-Marie it is lovely to be made so welcome. I am thinking that we will probably move from here sometime in the next year or so ..possibly Geelong area which has a very vibrant stitching/patchwork scene..but in the meantime the poor old head is still just bursting with drawings..its an affliction really.
keep stitching..Brenda
Hi Kim-Marie, Just thought I would say hello and hope you are safe from the fires. It is just devastating to see what has happened in Victoria and NSW.
My heart goes out to all involved.
We are a little cooler in Adelaide now, but the heat will be starting again over the weekend.
Hope you safe,
Iris
Hi Kim Marie, I have just started doing candlewicking again after not doing any for some years. And I dont know why because I love doing it - it is such a "calm" activity - well, yes as long as you do hold your tongue right. Think being on Stitchin Fingers has encouraged me to try different things again, rather than mainly quilting.
Think you had a very hot day today - hopefully not any fires around your area? The hot weather is supposed to finally reach us tomorrow. Will see how we go.

Hi Kim Marie, thank you for that , they were made for an exhibition titled dare to wear the pink dress was inspired by a womans weekly from 1939 the had images from some lovely dresses under the heading Dream Dresses, they make women feel helpless and man feel brave i could not resist making something real sweet, take care, Ankie
hello Kim-Marie, yes,if the truth be told,I would rather have cold than heat at least you can toast yourself indoors and look at the beauty outside whereas there's no escape from the heat if you don't have air conditioning in place. Thankyou for being my friend, I look forward to admiring more of your work on your blog too
Hi Kim Maree, I have just checked out your blog and love your work. Your candlewicked cushion is beautiful and well done (really your first???) wow. No wonder your daughter claimed it. Thanks for letting us see what you do.
Love the ATCs, don't expect any sympathy from me over the heat! Its snowing here and I've promised my kids I won't go out and fall over!!!! If it weren't for hobby stuff I'd be stir crazy
