quilting, embroidery, beadwork, applique, blackwork
Where did you learn your textile skills?
My first sewing project was a double layered chiffon bridesmaid dress with a big bow and french seams when I was 13. It is amazing that I lived through it, let alone have gone on to sew and sew.

Hello Kate, thank you for your kind comments on my navy blackwork noshi picture. I actually tacked the outline of each ribbon, found as many blues as I could in my thread box, and started stitching. Once or twice I pulled out a design as I felt it didn't quite look right beside the one just completed. Some stitch combinations I made up myself [well I think I did, perhaps someone else has done them in the past........LOL]. It was an interesting exercise. I have the same design [a few more 'ribbons'] done in an appliqued wall hanging, again in the deep blues/cream/rust. Thank you for asking.

Hello Kate,
The apple was my own design,Iv'e been inspired by the blackwork embroidery that people have been doing so wanted a modern interpretation with the apple green thread. I do make kits up but haven't done this one yet.
Best wishes,
jane C

hmmmm, Yahoo have changed the process since I wrote that - typical!
When it comes to 'Now Make It Uniquely Yours' got to 'all options'. To upload your banner image click on the camera icon next to 'Header' that appears in the first section 'colors'. The little camera icon has replaced the old picture icons. Hope that is of some help, please feel free to ask more questions, maybe I will have time to update it some day :)

Hi Kate, Welcome to stitchin fingers, and yes there is a lot to look at.
Costuming would have to be an interesting job, hard on the fingers, but otherwise it would be like being paid to practice things you want to do.
