I like all three of your ornaments, and this one is my favorite. I also like how you give details in your descriptions. I am wondering how you attach the two linen fabrics together. Please let me know.

Hi-thanks for the credit! I was actually inspired by others, SharonB I think. It was the first chicken scratch piece I did. Yours looks great!

This is very creative! I taught myself to tat some twenty years ago with a kit. The kit came with a long needle not a shuttle so that is how I learned. I made two small samples at the time. Alas, I did it so long ago that I have forgotten how. My ...

Chicken Scratch is also known as snowflaking, gingham embroidery and Amish embroidery. It is usually worked on a gingham check in order to have a lacy look. It was traditionally done on aprons. If you go to the photos page and type in chicken scra...

I don't think I've ever even heard of chicken scratch before. Do you know anything about it's history. I think this would make a great purse. It seems some of the threads are kind of long, do you think they would catch?

I put these next to each other to compare the changing floss choices. Which do you like better, the traditional green or the yellow green? This was a free online pattern from the DMC site.

Hmmm..... I wonder if there is any kind of adhesive that you could apply to the back of the cloth that would hold the chicken scratch threads in place?

Hi Karen,

I really haven't had time to learn all the ins and outs of the SF site yet. I can't even find where to read about this... Today when I looked at my page there was a box with a bow on it and a sentence telling me I had not received any "gifts" yet. I have no clue what that means! I am not sure I want to click on it to find out either. LOL

What are you working on? Do you work on one project until it is finished or do you have two or three going all at the same time?

I have a couple of unfinished pieces I really need to finish. If I get too far away from them I find it very hard to go back to them. I think I just loose interest.

Thanks Karen. YEs, it's a part of a future quilt, the block is appliqued (Shannon rose) and now, I embroider it. More photos later. It's a very long work, and I begin only the embroidery........................(8 big blocks)

Thanks for adding me as a friend! I love your ribbon embroidery, the wedding sampler is fantastic. I love working with ribbon too. I also like the book mark that you used printed fabric and then did some embroidery over it, that is a very cool looking bookmark. I love all your cross stitching work too. Some amazing pieces, the fans are very creative!! My first start in the world of thread was cross stitching. i still work on it, I have a project for my kids bathroom still in the works. Although my new love is Crazy Quilting. I love looking at all the amazing cross stitch work out there. Yours is Great!
