Profile Information

What textiles are you interested in?
I've embroidered since I was four, and although I am terribly inquisitive and always trying new art and craft techniques, I always return to hand stitching. A few years ago I discovered art dolls and became hooked. I love looking and finding out about a wide range of textiles and stitching from fine embroidery to contemporary, and everything in between.
Where did you learn your textile skills?
I'm self taught, mostly from books, trial and error, and just having a go!
Is there anything else you'd like other members of Stitchin' Fingers to know about you? Please feel free to tell us a little bit about yourself by way of introduction.
I constantly have the kettle on for a cuppa!

I  decided to play about with some pretty variegated thread  and practise some stitches. This little button was the result. It was made as a slip and then stitched on to a wool felt backing with  a buttonhole bar 'shank'.…

I was already wondering , watercolourist and illustrator. I should have my website in English as fast as I can. I hope you understood that my animals on those paintings are all in watercolor. I abuse the watercolor by adding layers but it still stays bright the way I want it.

Very nice to get to know you this way !

Loren.

Thank you so much for looking at my paintings as well, infact I have two passions : painting and embroidery.

I must say I like all your dolls also very very much but If I comment on each one of them separately, your mailbox will suffer from a overflow.

I must say ,I like your way of framing, very natural . I am still very much in doubt every time : natural frame or a more protecting one.

Lots of creative wishes, Loren.

Thank you for your comments, Jules.  Yes, you are fairly close to where I live.  I have tried to invite you to be a friend on Stitching Fingers but can't seem to find how to do it so if you like to invite me we could correspond more privately.  I love your dolls - something I have never done.  Grace
