Hello Anne, Thanks for your nice comment on the Dorset Buttons. When you are wrapping you create a web up and across until the whole wee area is filled in then you do your french knots on top of this web. Hugs Judy
I am without the net, and today, I am going on a friend....................And see THIX. I like because, it's the first time that I see so original and modern dorset buttons. How do you embroider over the threads?
Hello Patty, Thanks for your very lovely comment on my dorset buttons. I think a dorset button would look fantastic included in a tatted project. YOU must give it a go and please let me know when you have finished one. I would love to see it. Hugs...
I have been doing hand stitching from a young age. Then I went on and learned how to make quilts. My recent still in progress project is "The Crazy Quilt Of My Dreams" with a Heart and Roses theme. I also love beading and would love to learn how to do stumpwork embroidery and tatting.
Where did you learn your textle skills?
I learned how to do embroidery from my grandmother when I was very young girl. Since, I have learned from many wonderful stitching books. I have always dreamed about taking an embroidery course in the UK.

Hi Judy Yes I am still up for an exchange but didn't quite get what you meant .............do you mean an exchange at the end of December ??(Christmas exchange )Lorna
I just took a peek at your lovely work and thought that it might be a lot of fun. I am wanting to learn more about Gold Work and this is the first time I have ever seen it listed.
Happy Stitching,
I am sorry, I misunderstood your question! :-) The envelopes can be made any size, with any fabric - I usually choose a simple cotton. The construction is a bit tricky, because the inside is lined. I'll try to write detailed explanations later (it's easier with graphics!) - I'll let you know when I am done!
Thank you for your nice comments and the friend request, Judy!
As for the envelopes I make, I am afraid I can't help you much with the design process - I simply get an image in my head, and I try to reproduce it as best as I can! To this day, the envelopes I sent by mail (without any envelope or protection - it's part of the mail art :-) all arrived at destination safely - most of them crossed the Atlantic ocean!
Hi Judy thanks fo your comments I love the faces of your dolls very peaceful ! and your little dragonflies are very sweet .If you'd like a one to one fabric postcard swap let me know
