Everything! I love hand embroidery, frayed crazy patchwork, bead embroidery, knitting, crochet, and I rarely met a textile I did not love!
Where did you learn your textile skills?
My mum taught me to knit when I was tiny. The rest is self-taught from books (I taught myself cross-stitch and blackwork when I was in primary school, and crochet) plus I have a Diploma in Textile Art where I formalised a lot of design and other skills.
Is there anything else you'd like other members of Stitchin' Fingers to know about you? Please feel free to tell us a little bit about yourself by way of introduction.
I make things. Sometimes I even finish them. I read a lot. I have opinions.
At the moment a lot of my work revolves around a form of crazy patchwork with raw edges and lots of embellishment such as hand embroidery, beads and buttons. As crazy patchwork traditionally does not have any raw edges and its craziness is actually quite 'refined', I thought that 'mazey' was a better name for my frayed, slightly feral work! (Mazey - old English dialect for slightly crazed :)
Hi Judy, nice to see you again, it's been a long time. I haven't been very active on the net this year, some health issues with family members, upheavals in the life style as my husband decided to work from home and generally lost my "oomph". I'll see if I can find it again for the new year :)) cheers Erica
