I've recently received mine by post and agree it is well worth having. Great ideas and not too hard or expensive to do. But then I love all the Quilting Arts mags.
Same here Allyson, I also use Pelmet Vilene, doesn't fray and as Sheila said easy to move around under your machine. Also quite easy to stitch through by hand.
Hi Jan - I have just caught up with this RR. I would love to join in but unfortunately I will be away for October and a couple of weeks in Nov - would that be too late to start my stitching or else definitely count me in for any after those dates....
I love anything to do with threads and materials, especially learning from others and using different techniques. I cross stitch, crochet, embroider, quilt, used to knit a lot. Another love of mine is collecting old embroideries, needlework items especially thimbles and patterns.
Where did you learn your textle skills?
Mainly self-taught - have participated in a few workshops, both on-line and in class and from the huge stack of books I have. I was taught to sew, knit and crochet when young from an Auntie who was very nimble with her fingers.
Anything else you want to say to introduce yourself to the group??
I have retired from working full-time and it is not hard to find time to do things that I love! After being asked many many times, I now have a blog (as from June 2009) and have promised myself to try and post at least once a week. The name reflects where I live!!
Keep the blog posts coming.hope jetlag is improving.enjoy looking at all your purchases.....tried to p[ost comment on your blog, but it would not work!!!!!!!!
Hi Joy, Like your Jade ATC.like the idea of a world map with sequins/stars where the ATC's have come from.........I also like to look and see where people are from
Thank you Joy for the lovely ATC and the postcard showing where you live. Beautiful coastline. I looked on the atlas to find out where you are !
Why do you owe me another ATC ? Have I missed something ?
Hi Joy, I really envy you going off on this quilting trip to the USA - to ANYwhere!
Just as well, there are no more Birthday postcards until January - you don't have to think about that in advance. Pallavi's was the next one due in December, but as she hasn't sent any out, I've crossed her off the list.
Hi Joy, I have a small problem I'm hoping you will help me sort out. Lorraine in the USA took part in the Purple ATC swap, and received yours, but sent hers to you instead of Lorna! If you have it (or when it arrives) would you be so kind as to forward it on to Lorna? I have emailed Lorraine and told her I would be asking you to do it, so she knows what's going on. She has been very ill and in a lot of pain, poor girl, so I'm not surprised she got confused about the exchange. As I said to her, the term swap or exchange is misleading, because we aren't swapping with each other. However...
