Anyone going to the craft fare in OZ

Nope, but I am going to the one in Hamilton over here in NZ Sharon. It is an Auzzie import, so it may be the same one. Maybe you and Annie could do a pilgrimage over here!

Jo I have no idea why but your message will not open - I think Ning has head ache this morning - can you re-send or drop me an email?

Thanks Jo & I see you solved the barnacle/limpet query.
The limpets are trapped between the 2 layers of calico & held in place with little tacking stitches around the base, as you would with pebbles or other dimensional objects. Foundation stitches are worked over the shape & secured at the top then the needle weaving is worked all the way round from top to bottom. Hope this helps
Had a great time viewing your blog & am even more inspired to have a go at crazy quilting, your postcards are fabulous & just the right size to try a new technique.

Hi, Jo, thanks for your fidelity and message. YEs, you can put a thin wire in the sides of some embroideries (like in stumpwork) for giving a form......

I did look at the borders, that is why I mentioned that I like them. Without the embroidery it has a little bit more modern feel. Anyone who completes a CQ this big has my admiration, with or without embroidered borders! I am glad they got used on the back, it would have been a waste if they weren't used in some way.

Ah, okay, I found on your blog the part about the four-hour seam treatment...what I was calling coneflowers...and you said the petals are done in woven picot. What is this? Is there somewhere I can read about it? Thanks again!

Hey Jo,
All that tatting you got, did you end up dying a lot of it? Or were the colors exactly what you needed?
Looking at your work I am amazed that it is both simplistic and incredibly complicated! Does that make sense?
