Hi...I'm a X Stitch addict, started stitching 15 years ago when I married for the 2nd time. My Husband was in the Heavy Transport business (still is) so there was alot of waiting for him to come home. So, rather than get angry I started to 'stitch' and have never looked back. I've tried a few other things, but always come back to X Stitch.
I do have a new project happening...something I've wanted for a long time a 'Dollhouse' it is just fascinating and my Granddaughters love it. Is there anyone else out there into Dollhousing? I'd be glad to hear from you.
Where did you learn your textle skills?
Self taught - Books - Internet
Anything else you want to say to introduce yourself to the group??
I'm retired, and love to potter around my home and garden.
I love to read and blog (check it out)
Hi Joan,
Where have you been? Haven't seen you around Stitchin Fingers for a while. I see you saw Andre - wasn't he great!! I've just been admiring your photo show - gosh you have done some wonderful work. Have you kept them all, or given some away as gifts?
Joan, I got it! Happy dance.
Though not happy about that piece of fabric for your new project! That is a real pain. I have been there, done that, and I wasn't happy with me either..
Joan, You are the first person to link your blog to mine! Thank you!
I still spend about half an hour to get a link onto mine, so appreciate that you have done it. Don't hold your breath waiting for the return link because it will take me a while to do it .... and the air will turn blue. It is simple enough to do, I just keep stuffing it up! (I'm not going to admit that I have tried several times already, got two others added but yours is still on the 'to do' list!) Thanks again.
Hi Joan,
Thanks for your comment on my blog. Ah, Andre! I started a blog for him about a year ago, and was in partnership with another fan who became a good friend. She went one better and created a web page (with my full support) and so we let the blog kind of slide to the background. I was all Andre'd out by then as far as the blog went, so I'm happy she's looking after the web page now. We are seeing him on Friday 14th November, so I'll be able to tell you all about it!
Do you have many of his DVDs and CDs? We've got about a dozen DVDs and a couple of CDs.
Joan, I know the feeling! And I love the fact that there are so many different skills here, as well as it being world wide.
It is always lovely to mix with quilters, but I am learning so much from people with different talents. There is so much to see and read!
The group was formed in May this year, I think. Gald you are having a good time too!

I am so blown away with this place, the work being produced from all over the world is just amazing. Just needed to say that. When was 'stitchin fingers' started?
Cheers Joan ((*_*))

Joan, I'm so pleased you like my pictures. I have just recently started to design my own dolls and some of the stitcheries. I studied art in college, but never followed up on that knowledge - and it was an awfully long time ago. LOL! Took some classes recently that have helped refresh some of the design principles and I'm starting to spread my wings. Sometimes it even works!
You're kidding - YES! It is the 15th! Birthday twins!
Did you have a party? I had beaut parties for my 40th and 50th, and was going to have one for the 60th but we ended up going up to Darwin for a week instead. We got a cheap flight with another couple ($10 each way) so I decided that would be my birthday 'party'.
