Profile Information

What aspect of textiles are you interested in?
I love all sorts of fibers. I've done crocheting and made crocheted jewelry. I like weaving and am currently learning to knit. I also want to learn spinning.
Where did you learn your textle skills?
I've taken classes or taught myself.
Anything else you want to say to introduce yourself to the group??
My husband and I are getting ready to retire and want to raise Alpacas so my interest in spinning and weaving has taken over my life once more, after many years working at the computer as a freelance writer. I love all sorts of yarn and fiber and love all crafts relating to those.

I just started a new blog about my journey toward alpaca farming and my love of fiber arts. I'd love to interact with others who have these interests too.

My First Baby Blanket

Wanted to show off my first knitted baby blanket. At least it's half way done. My next project will be something a little fancier.

Sometimes I think you need 12 hands to get a good photo! I am sure that's how the pros do it.

I had used a metallic thread for some machine quilting, [on a quilt that ended up a window covering] but the only time you could tell was when the sun was shining from the back.

What a nice way to practice Joan. I'm sure your daughter and the new baby will be very happy with it to. I'll be waiting to see what you get done.

Tell your Mum we can be friends anyway, even if you have to be the go between!

We have just become friends, but I think I would also be friends with your Mum, the quilter, and you would probably have been friends with my Mum who was a knitter and spinner (of home grown merino wool) and crocheted! Judy

Welcome to stitchin fingers.
Try Fibre Fabrications which is a blog by someone who keeps alpacas, and if the link doesn't work leave a message on my page, or go from my page to my blog and look at the Weekly Words.
