Thanks Cheryl.
I can't take credit for the puzzle piece idea --that came from Pat Winter but however we chose to embellishe them for the swap was the participants' ideas.
In 2007 Sharon Boggon ran a challenge - Take a Stitch on Tuesday. TAST appears to be great for the beginners among us as the stitches are explained in great detail and with many photos to help someone master them. Everyone is welcome to join us.

Where did you learn your textle skills?
North America--now isn't that an answer????!!!!
I can't really place where I learned. I was also "into" textiles--making woven potholders with those stretchy bands when I was really young, then on to simple embroidery. Some things I learned from my Grandmother, some from my Mom, but actually, I'm pretty much self taught.
I have been learning under the same awesome embroidery/quilting teacher for a number of years now---Karen Phillips Shwallon.
I also have a VERY extensive library of almost every form of needleart under the sun.
Thanks Maggie,
I love making them, they're creative but mindless and such fun choosing color combinations.
I am intending to update my blog today---I'm way overdue, but have been so busy stitching I haven't had time for typing.
