Anne Bravey said… I know - I'm so lucky. When I totter out of the NEC loaded with more "stuff" I've ony got to get myself home and that takes 5 minutes! Went to the Festival of Quilts twice and loved it but it is exhausting!
Anne Bravey said… Thanks for your comment Janet. Your work is lovely - I can't wait to get on with some handstitching. I see you're a Midlands girl too - I'm in Coleshill, which is very handy for the NEC shows.
Anita said… Hi Janet,

Laurel said… Janet - Thanks for your nice comment. And I'm not discouraged to forge ahead in the program. This particular project required using materials relevant to the Elizabethan period, and I didn't realize that my linen was a blend with a synthetic thread. The Appleton's wool I used is very fuzzy, and the small, close stitching would have looked better in a finer wool.
BTW- your projects are lovely! and I love miniatures as well. I collect miniature books (5-23cm). Just ordered one of your footstool kits!

I am interested in embroidery of all kinds, especially miniature needlepoint, which is what I design for a living. I love making full-sized stumpwork pieces, many including goldwork as well.
When I am not working, I love doing Dances of Universal Peace. Other interests include the Sufi spiritual path, social issues, gardening, dressmaking and alternative health.
My website www.janetgranger.co.uk is where all the designs for miniature needlepoint kits for doll’s houses can be found, and bought, if the fancy takes you. I have been running that business since 1996, and have around 200 kits available now.
But on my blog ( http://janetgranger.wordpress.com/ ) you’ll hopefully be able to find out more about what motivates me to design, along with images of stitching in progress (both miniature and ‘full-size’), book reviews, product reviews, tutorials about various aspects of embroidery, etc.
I have been married to Chris since 1993. He helps me with all the technical stuff that needs doing on my website (fortunately!!), although I can manage the blog all by myself :-)
In our ‘previous existences’, he worked as a teacher, and I worked in a library. Until 1999, we lived in Essex, but we then moved to the Peak District, and now live in a peaceful village surrounded by fields (and sheep).
