In the US we call this pattern houndstooth check. A hound is a dog. The pattern looks like the dog's teeth. (When I was a little girl, my mother made me a jumper that had a blue and white houndstooth checked pattern.)
Arghh! I just realized that I spelled the number two wrong in my comment to you. Sorry! I hate when I do that. Too bad one can't edit comments.

What a small world -- I lived in Prague in the late 70s ... yes, I'm getting to be mid-50s now. It was difficult in some ways but oh-so-wonderful in many many other ways. I actually spoke a little Czech, but that's buried now under other things. I had a hard time, in a way, going back to Prague after it became the Czech Republic because I didn't want to see the McDonalds and Benneton, but what can you do? It is still a wonderful place! Are you in Prague or someplace else?
I'll have to check out your web site! I don't have a lot of time to be on this site right now, but hope to explore it thoroughly soon. Right now I'm mostly knitting -- seems to fit in with what I can fit in time wise.
Remind me -- what is modular knitting? Are you able to get good knitting patterns -- I'm sure you get Burda and other European magazines though.
And just to make sure: you know about Ravelry, I'm sure? It is just like this site, but it is ALL knitting. You have to sign up, but I don't think the waiting list is so long anymore.
Anyway, let me look around here this weekend and then I'll try and stay in touch!
