Profile Information

What textiles are you interested in?
cottons in all their marvelous iterations
Where did you learn your textile skills?
A little here, a little there. Mostly from books and lots of experimentation, hand wringing and boosts from other needlewomen
Is there anything else you'd like other members of Stitchin' Fingers to know about you? Please feel free to tell us a little bit about yourself by way of introduction.
I'm an old woman w/ only one name. I hate to follow directions, so my work is experimental on a good day and "This is another fine mess I've gotten me into" a bad day. I do machinefree embroidery along w/ hand embroidery. My current project is making a profoundly political art cape incorporating human figures, jewelry and lettering.

Thank you, Hekate for liking the felt bookmarks. These are made for my sister which she wants to give as gifts. The felt and bead work was inspired by my friend on this stitchin fingers, Jeanne-Marie Mellor whose work are far better than mine.

Hi Hekate,

Yes, I really love working on my mandala. I've got this lovely bag full of sample threads to try and the wonderful mandala design by Klaus Holitzka. It is such a nice journey to combine the two!

Have a nice day, Jessica

Dear Hekate,

I've just made myself a cup of tea after doing the dishes. Together with a nice piece of chocolate, it is now time to answer all the people who commented on my TAST-piece. By the time I am done, the angel on the other side of the globe will have posted another challenge in the TAST-series!

Thank you very much for commenting on my pictures.

Have a nice day, Jessica
