Jenny Your bookmark design is just fine. I'm glad to see that you are beginning design work so early. I was always too timid. But starting to design as soon as you understand how to make a piece hold together is the best way to go. Then as you add...

Thanks for the welcome to the Lacemakers. I have been mostly tatting for a while, but I have several pillows with projects to finish! Maybe that's my New Year's wish.

Hi Guzziesue - I was going to leave the challenge for a little while - a few months or so and then perhaps start a short one mid year. I was going to take a break and work on the stitch along and try and get some more stitches up in the stitch dictionary there are oodles of gaps I would like to fill.

I thing you are right, that the sheer number of photos is what makes it slow to load. Do you have an url for your flickr account?

Last night I tried to look at your blog to see you Beds samples. But the only one I could see was the one with orange-yellow leaf tallies. I also had to wait forever for the page to fall into my computer. I began to wonder if some kind of computer mal-ware might be behind it. I see no direct evidence of that, but just the glacial creep of the images coming in.

Hi
Thank you for welcoming me!
I'll be visiting France soon and hope to source some good supplies there. Now that I have a genuine straw filled pillow (!), hope to be making more progress with lace.
Beth :)

Hi
Love all your work. I used to make lace years ago and my pillow is laced up and collecting dust on top of my work cabinet with a half finished table cloth. It is great that you have developed a modern twist to the old craft, perhaps I should blow the the dust off and get experimenting.

Hi,

I haven't been up for quite a long time, too many other things getting in the way.

I've just got another pillow off Ebay, it's huge, a circular 60cm round. I washed the outer cover so maybe I can get down to some lacemaking practice now, although, I am also hoping to buy a couple of Ryland fleece shortly, I went to an auction with my husband a few months back to try to find a bicycle for him, and came away with a spinning wheel instead!!
